This stone cottage in the Tuscan hills boasts views across the surrounding mountains and valleys. Set in a secluded spot on the edge of a large village, you’ll have peace and quiet here, with the convenience of shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance, as well as a trio of historic towns – Barga, Borgo a Mozzano, and Bagni di Lucca – within a thirty-minute drive. The private pool may be small, but the panoramic countryside views from the water more than make up for that. Inside, the two bedrooms are separated by a bamboo wall so they aren’t the most private – we think this home is best suited to a couple or family.

Home truths

If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.

Although the twin bedroom can be configured as a double if required, the bedrooms are separated by a bamboo screen, so privacy is limited. This home is best suited to a family or a couple.

The swimming pool is set above ground and reached via wooden steps. It isn't fenced so children will need to be supervised at all times. The swimming pool is only available for use between May and September.

There is an attached apartment at the end of the cottage which is currently unoccupied.

Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. There’s free parking here.

About Lucca

Lucca is one of Italy’s best-kept secrets. Surrounded by fortified walls, its core is a warren of pretty piazzas, traditional Tuscan trattorias, and beautifully preserved churches. Most of the action happens in Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, a vast central square lined with alfresco restaurants and Renaissance-era architecture. There’s a buzzy nightlife scene centred around cool enotecas and craft beer bars. On Via Fillungo, you’ll find some of Lucca’s finest boutiques, with high-end...
